RealityHub SL is committed to protecting the privacy of our users across Sierra Leone and the diaspora. This Privacy Policy describes the personal information we collect, how we use and share it, and the rights you have in relation to your information. It applies whenever you visit our website, use our mobile experiences, interact with us on WhatsApp, or use any of our services.
The Platform is operated by Salone Reality Hub, the legal entity responsible for your personal information (the “data controller” for the purposes of applicable data protection law).
By using RealityHub SL, you agree to the practices described in this policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Platform.
2. Information We Collect
We collect the information needed to operate the Platform, verify identities, facilitate transactions, and keep users safe. The categories of information include:
- Personal information — name, phone number, email address, date of birth, national ID or passport details where verification is required, and profile photo.
- Property information — listings, addresses, descriptions, photographs, pricing, and availability provided by landlords, agents, and suppliers.
- Verification documents — title deeds, land documents, survey plans, receipts, and other records submitted as part of our verification services, together with the results of our checks.
- Payment information — transaction references, amounts, currency, payment method, and limited details shared by our payment providers. RealityHub SL does not store full card numbers on its own systems.
- WhatsApp and messaging interactions — messages you exchange with RealityHub SL or other users through our in-platform or WhatsApp-integrated channels, and the metadata of those messages.
- Usage and device data — pages viewed, searches performed, interactions with listings, IP address, device type, browser, and approximate location, collected via cookies and similar technologies.
3. How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect to:
- Match tenants, buyers, and investors with properties and providers that meet their needs.
- Provide land and property verification services and deliver the resulting reports.
- Process payments, subscriptions, and escrow releases, and keep records for accounting and regulatory purposes.
- Communicate with you about your account, inquiries, viewings, maintenance requests, and important updates.
- Prevent fraud, impersonation, money laundering, and other abuse of the Platform.
- Improve the Platform, including our AI assistant, search relevance, and analytics, and to develop new features.
- Comply with legal and regulatory obligations in Sierra Leone and, where applicable, in jurisdictions where diaspora users are based.
5. Data Security
RealityHub SL uses a combination of technical and organisational controls to protect your information, including encryption of data in transit, access controls for staff, role-based permissions inside internal tools, and additional safeguards for sensitive identity documents used in verification.
No system is completely secure. If we become aware of a breach that affects your personal information, we will notify you and the relevant authorities in line with applicable law.
6. Your Rights
Subject to the law applicable to you, you have the following rights in respect of your personal information:
- Access — request a copy of the information we hold about you.
- Correction — ask us to update information that is inaccurate or incomplete.
- Deletion — request that we erase your information, subject to legal and record-keeping requirements.
- Portability — ask for a machine-readable copy of key information you have provided to us.
- Objection and restriction — object to certain uses of your information or ask us to restrict processing in specific circumstances.
These rights are aligned with emerging Sierra Leonean data protection practice and, where applicable, with the protections you enjoy as a diaspora user in your country of residence. You can exercise your rights by emailing privacy@realityhubsl.com.
8. Diaspora Users
If you use RealityHub SL from outside Sierra Leone, your personal information may be transferred to and processed in Sierra Leone and in countries where our payment and technology partners operate. We rely on contractual safeguards with these partners to protect your information during international transfers, and we only transfer information where it is necessary to deliver the service you have requested.
9. Children
RealityHub SL is intended for users aged 18 and above. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will take appropriate steps to remove it.
10. Retention
We keep your information for as long as we need it to provide the Platform, comply with legal and tax obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. Typical retention periods include the lifetime of your account for profile data, and up to seven (7) years for transaction and verification records where required by law. Information no longer needed is deleted or anonymised.
11. Changes to this Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy as the Platform evolves and as laws change. When we make material changes, we will update the “Last updated” date above and, where appropriate, notify you by email, in-platform notice, or WhatsApp message. Continued use of RealityHub SL after an update means you accept the revised policy.
